reDesertification

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Taliesin West, Scottsdale, AZ, 2007

Phoenix is an ecological time bomb. Home of an expanding population, Phoenix is in a waterless region that is prone to heat waves, droughts, sandstorms and wildfires.
reDesertification addresses water politics in the American Southwest and the diversion of the Colorado River to the Central Arizonia Water Project. The work brings into question the wisdom of inhabiting a region that has never successfully supported a civilization.
reDesertification poses the question whether it woudl be wiser to allow the arid region to be returned to the Saguaro cacti.
