Everson Museum, Syracuse, NY
Golden acrylic paints and mediums
9′ x 9′ x 6″‘
Inspired by the paintings of the Abstract Expressionists and based on a series of maps of the Upstate NY region the paint has been created without a support structure. By removing the canvas and having it engage directly with the surface of the museum the painting explores the tenuous yet critical relationship between artist, art and institution.
Many thanks to Recology San Francisco. All books were removed from the public disposal.
