Flag was the installation which originated from a vigil of 2000 floating candles held to commemorate the 2000th American soldier casualty in the Iraq war. The installation included a projected video of the burning candles onto the base of the quilted flag. The remains of the unburned candles were scattered at the base of the crimson drapes.

Flag was one part of a four-piece installation: Brick, Apron, Flag, Quilt at the Headlands Center for the Arts.
